Ex Vipers Meek & Dyment Recieve Honourable Mention For Player Of The Week:

Former Vernon Vipers defenceman Mitch Meek & former Vernon Vipers goaltender Zach Dyment earned honourable mention for BCHL Player of the Week.

Meek is in his first season with the Vees played parts of one season in Vernon (2014-15) playing in 50 games with the Vipers collecting (6-goals-10-assists-16-points) after coming over in a trade with the Victoria Grizzlies. On October 8th 2014 the Grizzlies traded Brandon Egli, Mitch Meek & Future Considerations to the Vipers for Aydan Macdonald & Jake Emilio. Over the off season the Vipers traded Meek in a three way deal with West Kelowna & Prince George. On July 9th 2015 the Vipers traded Meek to West Kelowna for Mac Ferner before the Warriors traded Meek to Prince George for Luke Harrison.  The Spruce Kings traded Meek to Cowichan on August 12th 2015. In 48 games with the Capitals last year, Meek Collected (5-goals-26-assists-31-points). The Cowichan Capitals traded Meek to the Penticton in a three team trade with Surrey on June 6th 2016.

Dyment started last season with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks was released on September 28th 2015 after playing in just one game. The Alberta Junior Hockey League Sherwood Park Crusaders signed Dyment October 6th 2015 played in 25 games before being traded to Trail July 8th 2016.  Dyment was an affiliated player "AP" with the Vipers during the 2013-14 season. Dyment never played a game with the Vipers but was called up as a backup goaltender for four games during the season.

Mitchell stars for ‘Backs, takes POW nod

Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward Marcus Mitchell has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 9, the league announced Tuesday.

Mitchell led the ‘Backs to a pair of wins in as many nights and piled up seven points along the way. The 6-foot-2, 186-pound native of Kelowna, B.C. started his week with a goal and three assists and the game’s 1st Star in a 5-3 road win over West Kelowna. He was 1st Star again the next night for his two goals and one assist in a 6-3 home win over Surrey.

Turning 18 on Wednesday, Mitchell almost tripled his season points output with his seven-point week and now has 4-7-11 on the season.
