Vernon Vipers hold their spring prospects camp Friday to Sunday at the Priest Valley Arena.

Assistant coach Kevin Kraus says over 100 prospects — mostly 16 and 17 year olds — will be taking part in scrimmages.

“We’re looking to build off last year. Last year was a good, young, fast paced group that we were able to pull some prospects from for this year. We’re looking for competitive kids that want to play here in the future, whether it’s next season, or two years down the road,” Kraus tells Kiss FM.

Kraus says all of the players have been invited to the camp.

“The majority are 16 and 17 years old. There is a few 15 year olds and a few 18 years olds.”

Kraus says most of the prospects played midget last year, with few who were at Junior B.

He says some of them will be invited to main camp in the fall.

“That’s the goal. We want to get them to main camp to compete against the veterans coming back.”

The public is invited to come watch the games at the Prtiest Valley rink, with Kraus adding, “Bring your winter coat.”
